Build in Public

#buildinpublic – page is a work in progress

I decided to join in on the #buildinpublic tag because I thought it might be nice for people to see the amount of thought and work that goes into building a website and business. Even with the new models of AI assistance, there are many tasks to do, products to design and creative things that AI cant help with such as the look and feel of products.

Build in public is a practice of sharing your work in progress with others, often online. This can include sharing code, designs, ideas, and even failures. The goal of build in public is to get feedback and help from others, to build community, and to learn and grow as a developer.

There are many benefits to build in public. It can help you to:

  • Get feedback on your work: When you share your work in progress, you get feedback from others. This can help you to identify and fix problems, and to make your work better.
  • Build community: Build in public can help you to connect with other developers and build a community around your work. This can be a great way to learn and grow as a developer.
  • Learn and grow: Build in public can help you to learn and grow as a developer. When you share your work, you are forced to explain it to others. This can help you to better understand your own work and to identify areas where you need to improve.

There are also some challenges to build in public. It can be difficult to deal with criticism: When you share your unfinished work, you are opening yourself up to criticism. This can be difficult to deal with, but it is important to remember that criticism is a part of the proces

At Brain Bunker, we’ve been building in public from the start. We’ve shared our progress on social media, in blog posts, and even in our product development process. By sharing your journey with others, you can gain valuable insights, build a community of supporters, and inspire others to pursue their own entrepreneurial dreams.

Products

We have unique ideas for products that need developing, investment is crucial to this and the current suggestions to generate this are:

  • NFT art collection linked to real merchandise products
  • Gofundme
  • Standard Merchandise
  • Sound products – sleep aids, alexa and google home apps
  • Music products

I think another round of AI suggestions could help with this.

Business Costs

the monthly business costs will be kept here and updated.

  • £25 Shopify – we took advantage of an intial offer for £1 a month for 3 months
  • £30 Midjourney
  • £16 GPT
  • Moises £4
  • Lalai.ai – unknown
  • Currently unknown – Dropshipping
  • Currently free / unknown – Affiliate costs
  • Currently free – Social Media Management and scheduling ( $300 a year for 5 channels from Buffer )
  • Currently free – Organisation tools and group messaging for artists and partners (Trello)
  • Currently free – Design tools like Canva

This is a monthly cost of: £71 and £852 a year to stay afloat. It would certainly make sense to try and reduce the costs. Shopify is very expensive but without it the tasks involved would be too much. We are currently using the free version of GPT but its limitations are evident. Without Midjourney, well… we just wouldn’t be able have fun with art and make cool things :)

Business Launch

In 3 months, when we launch for real, we will do an advertising campaign this is going to take several forms:

  • videos of products we have designed
  • standard paid ads throughout social media and elsewhere
  • chatGPT suggest guerilla marketing with stickers (!?)
